FAQs

  • Beorn is a Level 3 Qualified Horticulturalist, a registered member of the Gardeners Guild, and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Garden Design. If I’m working alongside another gardener, you can be equally sure that they’re suitably qualified as well.

We’re also licensed waste carriers and hold a variety of tool and machinery-related qualifications too.

  • Yes, we’re covered by public liability insurance up to the sum of £1,000,000.

  • This depends on the job, but generally, we work in all weathers in which it’s practical to do so.

We keep a constant eye on the weather forecast (BBC & MET) and use this information to plan the working week. Where snow or heavy rain is predicted, we reserve the right to rearrange the scheduled work for a more suitable time.

  • We specialise in the rejuvenation of tired, neglected gardens.

However, we recognise green garden waste as a valuable resource and so we do everything in our power to keep as much of it on-site, recycling it as compost and then putting it back into the garden ecosystem as mulch.

  • We do not typically take waste away with us.

A whopping 40-50% of the UK’s landfill is comprised of compostable green waste, which slowly decomposes in an anaerobic environment, releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Not only is this quickening the pace of climate change, but we see it as a genuine lost opportunity!

Instead, we aim to put the majority of green waste that we create through an on-site composting system, or at the very least placed into the green council bins. On those few occasions where the quantity of green waste is too much, we can arrange for trusted third-party removal.

  • After completing each job, we will send you an invoice that contains all relevant details.

As a small business, payments that are made soon after receiving the invoice are greatly appreciated.

  • Hard landscaping is not our area of expertise, so we do not offer this as a service. We can, however, recommend some trusted landscapers that we’ve worked with before.

Alternatively, you can find a quality landscaper using the Association of Professional Landscapers and British Association of Landscape Industries websites.
